Honeyguide Tented Safari Camps welcomes children of all ages. Parents wishing to visit our luxury private camps are able to have the peace of mind that their children are included in the day’s activities.

The Khoka Moya and Ranger Camps children’s program includes a few of the following activities, supervised by the camp staff, where younger children can engage in a variety of activities including colouring-in, bead-making and cookie-making in the kitchen. The children will also receive a Junior Safari activity book.

For older children, we plan treasure hunts or short guided walks around the circumference of the property to take in the small wonders of the bush and they can make Plaster of Paris Mould of animal tracks.

Our activities tend to focus on nature and are mostly based outdoors

Children are welcome to go on drives with their parents. (Please see note regarding Game Drive Safaris ages for Ranger Camp)

We appreciate that children often have different dietary requirements so we are able to provide alternative dishes for children, with food such as pasta, fish fingers, hamburgers, hotdogs and ice-cream.

Our rate for children under the age of 12 years is 50% of the adult rate and is based on the child sharing a tent with the adult. There is no charge for children under the age of 2 years.

Note

Ranger camp: children must be 6years and older to do the full Safari Game drives at the Entabeni Reserve camp. Under 6yrs old they do a junior drive around the Honeyguide camp perimeter as well as a junior safari walk as the camp is unfenced so the rangers take them around a smaller area and they get to experience a safari on a smaller scale

The children’s program is available at Khoka Moya camp only and not at Mantobeni camp (the sister camp to Khoka Moya) which only takes children over the age of 12 years, such older children being recognized and charged as adults

We offer non-credited Baby Sitter Services (staff) at R100 per hour for those parents wishing to utilise this service
